How many firefighters are on the volunteer Fire Department?
There are 35 part-time, paid per call firefighters on the New Brighton Fire Department. From the 35 firefighters, an Assistant Chief is appointed every two years and 5 Captains are elected from the membership annually. In addition to the volunteer positions, the City employs a full-time Deputy Director for the Fire Division, a full-time Fire Inspector and a full-time Office Assistant.
