How many Filipinos are working overseas and what percentage is that of the entire Philippine population?
Last year & at any given year at least as far back as 2004, over one million Filipinos go abroad to work & to migrate. A few of those who migrate do come back & many who go abroad to work come & go. The latest NSO survey that I found was the 2006 Survey & it said that at any given time there were at least 1.52 million Filipinos working outside the country, growing by 14.3% from the previous year. I’m guessing that this does not included the undocumented ones which also should number over a million too. So at any given time it isn’t that big as compared to the total popuaation but the total number of those who went abroad & are currently working abroad is a pretty big number & is a considerable percentage of the total number of Filipinos.
