The number of fasteners required to achieve I-60 and I-90 psf wind uplift resistance for 1/4″ DensDeck overlayment depends on the type of membrane used. For mechanically attached roof coverings, only four fasteners per 4′ x 8′ sheet of 1/4″ DensDeck are necessary. These fasteners keep DensDeck in place while the membrane is being attached. The number of fasteners needed to attach such membranes far exceeds the number of fasteners required to achieve 90 psf wind uplift rating.
