Up to two DSP5D units can be cascaded to a single PM5D V2. By adding DSP5D units, the maximum number of inputs of a PM5D V2 system is 168 channels (144 mono + 12 stereo pairs). As of the latest PM5D V2 firmware release, there are several restrictions regarding the control of DSP5Ds.
