• It is premature at this time to know exactly how many birds will be culled this year due to external factors such as weather and resources. • To protect species at risk and meet the goals of the Middle Island Conservation Plan, the nest numbers must be reduced from the current 3,800 nests to between approximately 600 and 1,100 nests over the course of the Middle Island Conservation Plan.
