How many digits are available?
A. The more digits the higher the resolution. 4 digits have more resolution than 3 ½ digits. Example, the outside temperature is 19.99º F, 3 ½ digits is more than enough for outside temperatures, but probably not enough for the surface temperature of aluminum used in the production of commercial airplanes. 19.999ºF may be more adequate.
