How many different types of chillies are there?
There are hundreds of different varieties of chillies ranging from very mild to scorchingly hot. Chillies come in all shapes, sizes and colours ranging from tiny pointed extremely hot birds eye chilli to the large mild fleshy peppers like the ‘anaheim’. Some of the more commonly available fresh chillies include jalapeo, serrano, poblano, yellow wax, birds eye, habarnero and cayenne which are now being stocked by many stores and markets.
