How many different categories of pins are there and which are the most popular?

There are as many different categories of pins as there are fields of interest…it’s nearly infinite. Some of the more popular are Olympic, Coke, Hard Rock Cafe, Disney, Hot Air Balloon, Sports, NASCAR/Racing, Media, Beverage and Law Enforcement. But there are any number of people that collect very unusual and specific types of pins. For example, I know collectors that collect Lottery pins, Rodeo pins, Butterfly pins, Stamp pins, City and State Pins, Political pins, 7-Eleven Pins, Cheesecake Factory Pins and Car pins.
