How many Deaf Queers are there in the United States?
An estimated 2.8 million! Alfred Kinsey, based on his ground breaking research in the late 1940s, estimated that 10% of the total population is Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual. According to the National Association of the Deaf, there are currently 28 million Deaf and hard of hearing people in the U.S. Multiply 10% by 28 million and you get a figure of 2.8 million Deaf and hard of hearing Queers!
