All of our scuba diving classes, including the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver certification are performance based, skills-acquired type training classes. This means that we measure your qualification to be a scuba diver by measuring your performance and observing you skills performance against our performance standards. This is considerably different from typical “school” classes, where it is assumed that if you attend a certain number of hours of training, you qualify as fully trained. The PADI system of training outlines certain information and skills you must demonstrate to be certified to scuba dive. How long you spend learning these skills is unimportant…..what IS important is your level of mastery of those skills. In practical terms, you will spend two weekend with us, in addition to the home knowledge development time you dedicate to the home study.
