How many days after ovulation does implantation happen?
Implantation can happen 8-12 days past ovulation. The earliest you will get a positive HPT result is 8 days past ovulation. It can then take another couple of days for enough of the pregnancy hormone to build up in your system that the HPT detect in your urine. So, the longest it would take really is 14 DPO. I think that it is why these early HPT say you can test as early as 4 days before your expected period. They are basing that on a 28 day cycle, so in effect you would be testing on Day 24 of your cycle, which would be 10 DPO. If you know your Luteal Phase (the number of days from ovulation until your next period), you will know if your period is late. Your ovulation date may change each month, but your Luteal Phase is always the same.
