From 43 to 49 credits. The program is 49 credits for students who do not qualify for any waivers. With waivers for previous appropriate graduate coursework, relevant public health work experience, or a health professions background, the number of credits can be potentially reduced to 43. In addition, up to 10 credits of appropriate graduate coursework can be transferred to UB from other academic institutions (see Policies for Transferring Credits to the MPH Program).

The program is 50-51 credits, depending upon concentration. It is possible to reduce the number of credits through a combination of credit waivers and credit transfers. The minimum number of credits required for the MPH degree is 43.
