How many credit hours are required?
In order to earn a J.D. at George Mason, students must successfully complete a total of 84 credit hours. Full-time students take 12-15 credit hours per semester; Part-time students take 8-12 credit hours. During the first year, full-time students will complete 30 credit hours (full-time students carry 15 credit hours in each of the first and second semesters); part-time students will complete 23 credit hours (part-time students carry 11 credit hours during the first semester and 12 credit hours during the second semester).
