How many combinations will the experiment show?
The number of combinations that will show depends on the number of page sections you identify and the number of variations you create for each page section. We use the following formula to determine the number of combinations: (# of variations for Section 1) x (# of variations for Section 2) x … x (# of variations for the last Section) = # of Combinations For example: let’s say you had 3 sections: Headline, Image, and Promotional Text. You have 2 Headline variations, 4 Image variations, and 5 Promotional Copy variations. The number of combinations would be: (2 Headlines) x (4 Images) x (5 Promotional Copies) = 40 Combinations Remember, the more combinations you test, the longer your experiment will need to run in order to give you reliable data about the performance of the different designs you create.
