Jude Law is to become a father for the fourth time following a relationship with a woman he is declining to name. The famously media-shy actor has promised to play a “supportive role” when the baby is born this autumn although he is no longer involved with the child’s mother. A spokesman said: “I can confirm that following a relationship last year, Jude Law has been advised by the birth mother that he is to be the father of a child due in the autumn of this year. “He is no longer in a relationship with her but he intends to be a fully supportive part of the child’s life. “This is an entirely private matter and no further statements will be made.” But the actor, who has three children with his ex-wife Sadie Frost, is unlikely to be granted the privacy he desires by tabloids long interested by his successful career —- which has seen him earn Oscar nominations for Cold Mountain and The Talented Mr Ripley —- and complicated private life.
