How many children did Sacajawea have?
Sacajawea (or Sacagawea) had a son named Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau (“Little Pomp” or “Pompy”) who was born on February 11, 1805 during the Lewis and Clark expedition. After the expedition, Clark would later raise and educate young Jean at a time where there was little opportunity for schooling for Native Americans. Her daughter Lizette was born in late 1810 or in 1811, before Sacajawea’s reported death in 1812.
