How many cents per kilowatt does hydroelectric power cost?

Since all power is on a grid system (no matter where you live), every type of power is on the same grid whether it comes from hydro, nuclear, coal, oil, gas, wind, solar, geothermal, etc. The price is mainly dictated by market economics, but it is true that in places that are close to many hydro dams, that power is cheaper. I used to live in the US pacific northwest where much of the power comes from hydro. 40 years ago it was as little as 2 cents per kWhr, but now it is over 5 cents/kWhr. If it weren’t for poor management by some of these NW power companies and market forces, that 5 cents could be much lower. Contrast that with the almost 8 cents/kWhr I pay where I live, now, where it is mostly coal-fired plants and some commercial wind power. .
