How many center speakers are out there which extend as deep and loud as a sub?
Once you have at least one main channel set to route low bass to the sub, you can use the AVIA subwoofer tests for that channel and get better distribution of bass between your main speakers and subwoofer. What about the LFE level? That is preset at the factory relative to the other channels so setting the other channels for correct bass reproduction should also set the LFE correctly.
