How Many Calories and How Nutritious?
Many of us have just enjoyed a tasty and very satisfying Thanksgiving Dinner complete with turkey,stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and lots more food. Tastes good and we may have enjoyed sharing a meal with family and friends. But what about our waistlines and our health? How many calories and how healthy is a traditional Thanksgiving meal? Estimates begin at perhaps 2200 calories, more than enough for a full day of eating for an average sized adult. However, the calorie counting doesn’t stop there. Calorie intake can be as high as 3000 to 5000 calories or more. But it is not just the calories but the number of calories from fat which could be as high as 229 calories. Review any good diet book and you will know that the Thanksgiving meal you just devoured contains so much fat that it far exceeds the daily allowance for a reasonably healthy diet, no less a weight loss diet.
