How many breeds of Australian dogs are there?
That’s kind of a tricky question. My favorite is the Aussie or the Australian Shepard, which isn’t really from Australia. I’m not sure if that counts as an Australian dog for your criteria. Cattle dogs are from Australia. They are sometimes called Queensland Heelers or just Heelers, instead of Australian Cattle dogs. If the dog is blue or red in color sometimes the name will be a ‘Red Heeler’ or ‘Blue Heeler’. I hope this helps.
