How many Brazil Nuts is enough in my mixed nuts?

…but then again, I like Brazil nuts. Unless you’re going for some traditional mix, or you’re selling the mix and want it consistent, the only thing you need to worry about is how much you like them compared to the other nuts in the mix. Most mixes have very few Brazil nuts. My guess is that it has something to do with the fact that they’re so hard to crack. It’s probably easier to process the other types of nuts without damaging the nuts or getting shells into the mix. Or maybe they’re just more expensive. I haven’t compared prices of nuts lately, but I know that the quantity of Brazil nuts in a nut mix seems to be equivalent to the number of cherries in a canned fruit cocktail mix.

I think they ought to make a mike of just peanuts and cashews myself, since those seem to get eaten first, althought some like the almonds too. I think the Brazils are just a cheap space stealer, because i have never witnessed someone actually eating one on purpose. I may be wrong, but that is what I have seen. Sources: Many munching sessions tossing the Brazil nuts aside…
