How many bodies have been found int Burr Oak cemetery Alsip, Illinois?
Four charged with dismembering bodies in Illinois – Hundreds of families are flocking to an Alsip cemetery to see if the remains of their loved ones were disturbed in what authorities are calling a scheme to resell the plots. Four workers accused of digging up bodies at the historic cemetery were charged Thursday morning. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said the workers disturbed 200 to 300 graves and dumped about 100 displaced bodies in mass graves at the back of the 150-acre property at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, about 20 miles southwest of Chicago. Many plots were either resold or double-booked to unsuspecting customers, Dart said. Authorities say that as occupied plots were sold, the body of the current occupant was not always disinterred. Some bodies were buried with an existing body in the grave. Others were removed and replaced. Sources: abclocal.go.com/wjrt/story?section=news/national…
