Wood-fueled biomass power generation is a mature technology with plants operating that are now more than 20 years old. There are dozens of similar plants currently in operation and many more planned throughout the world, particularly in Western Europe and North America. There are currently two similar large-scale wood-derived biomass power stations operating in the UK, with at least 10 more at various stages of planning.
