How many billions of barrels of oil did the US export in 2008?
The USA imports a lot more than they export… but according to the EIA (Energy Information Administration) government website the USA exported 10,464,000 barrels of crude oil in 2008. http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_move_exp_dc_NUS-Z00_mbbl_a.htm Exports from the USA are usually refined products from crude. Total exports for 2008 from the USA = 659,392,000 barrels, of which 588,500,000 barrels were refined and finished products (gasoline, kerosene, fuel oil, waxes, asphalt, etc.) So we don’t export over a billion barrels of oil a year, we import over a billion though.
