No Girl Scout is required to earn badges; however, the types of activities available for each age level are pretty good indicators of the types of activities girls should be doing in the Girl Scout program. Badges are just one way a girl can demonstrate the progression of skills and abilities she has attained in Girl Scouting, not to mention they’re fun to do!
