Small litters, like 1 or 2 babies will mean they will be larger. 3-5 is better because the guinea pigs will be normal sized. You will most likely get 2 or 3 babies. Good luck! first time 1-3, after that 1- 5 my friend got 2 girls mother: Squeaky (4yrs now) and daughter: Lucy (2yrs now) from a breeder, 3 weeks later they both gave birth, my friend and the breeder didnt knwo they were pregnant. Squeaky gave birth to 3 bois and 1 girl (she gave away 2 bois from squeaky’s litter and jerry form the other to a breeder) and Lucy had 3 girls (hobnob, ChocChip, Muffin) 1 boi (Jerry).
Okay, yes you are risking their lives, I think it is wrong to force a guinea pig to give birth. But I don’t want to offend, I just want to advise you. When I got 2 guinea piggies, the pet shop told us they were both boys so we put them in the same cage – later finding out that they were boy and girl. Damn that Pets At Home (UK). Emily, the mother, had 2 babies – a boy and a girl. We quickly seperated them, but she was already pregnant. Then she had 5 babies!!!!!! 4 girls and 1 boy, btw- we kept the babies all in the girls cage with the mum, we tried to put the baby boy in the boys cage – the other 2 boys chased the baby and tried to pee on it so poor thing- had to stay with emily (its mum and its 4 sister babies). Sorry, its so long, thats my story. So, I guess 1-5. Any more times and it can reach up to 8. Hope I helped,.
