How many artifacts were found at the Foley Square Project?
The density of archaeological features is unlike any other block excavated in New York City, suggesting major differences between other working class neighborhoods and the Five Points. The precise number of artifacts is as yet not known, but a great amount of material was recovered. There are at least 500 boxes full of material. Because the African Burial Ground artifacts are taking precedence, the Five Points material will not be processed until the African Burial or Broadway Site work is complete.
