How many aircraft are CPDLC equipped?
At present only 1% of the total amount of traffic crossing the Maastricht UAC airspace (approx. 1.2 million flights/year) are using AGDL. However, through the work of the LINK2000+ Programme more and more aircraft are expected to equip in the near future. Airlines have expressed their full support for the introduction of data link operations and regular contacts between EUROCONTROL and aircraft manufacturers aim at ensuring that future avionics include AGDL equipment on-board new aircraft.
