You will need a vast amount of money to buy the land as agricultural land is still expensive. You will need outbuildings, one as a milking parlour with all the machinery and a large one to house the cows during the winter.You will need a different building to put the calves in after they are born. On top of this you will need loads of machinery for muck spreading etc, and insurance and vets bills. Why do you think that so many dairy farmers are going out of business. Nice idea but not a money making one. There was a dairy farmer on a programme this week whos take home pay was £300 a month.
