LSU baseball season ticket holders may request NCAA Super Regional ticket books by logging on to their accounts by Tuesday, June 2, at 5 p.m. CT. LSU does not anticipate that Super Regional books will be made available to the general public, however a limited number of single game “Standing Room Only” tickets may be available for purchase on the day of the game at Alex Box Stadium. LSU students: To place your request, or to create and/or join a seating group, please login to your Student Ticket Account. Fans are encouraged to check the LSU Ticket Marketplace throughout the event for tickets put on sale by season ticket holders who may not be able to attend some of the games.
As expected, LSU is one of 16 regional host sites for the 2009 NCAA baseball tournament. The NCAA announced today that the new Alex Box Stadium will host its first regional beginning Friday. The identities of the other three opponents in the four-team regional will be announced at 11:30 a.m. Monday. The Tigers will play at 1 p.m. Friday in the first game, according to LSU baseball spokesman Bill Franques. Other SEC schools that will host regionals are Florida and Ole Miss. Other hosts include: Arizona State, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rice, Texas and TCU. By virtue of being awarded a regional, all 16 host institutions have also been selected to the 64-team field. Cal State Fullerton, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia Tech, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma and TCU have made the field as at-large selections.
