How long will the referral process take?

0

The length of the process varies and will depend if we have a suitable vacancy at the time the referral is received. The Shared Lives Scheme can accommodate emergency placements if there is a successful placement match. If the Shared Lives Scheme are requested to recruit a provider to meet with a persons specific care needs, it may take between 3 – 6 months between receiving the referral and the service user moving in. It will depend upon how long it takes to gather all the information needed about the service user, how long the recruitment and introductory visits take to arrange, how many visits are needed and the circumstances of both the service user and the provider and their family. It may also be necessary to arrange specialist training or particular aids and adaptations to enable the provider to meet the service user’s needs.
