How Long will the Premium Shower Water Filter Last?
On average, the filter will last about one year. Initially, the filter will remove 98% of the Chlorine. Over time, the removal percentage declines until it is at about 87% after one year. Accordingly, we recommend annual cartridge replacement. New Wave Enviro sends a reminder card yearly. Inside KDF Copper-Zinc Shower Filter Cartridge: • Each cartridge contains 16 ounces of patented, bacteriostatic KDF-55 and 2 ounces of Crystal Quartz for enhanced performance. • KDF filters out Chlorine, Odors and Dirt particles. It is a copper-zinc alloy that filters by reduction-oxidation. As the water passes through, chlorine is converted to harmless chloride. • The water flow creates a slight electrical current that releases oxygen, so oxygen depleting bacteria cannot grow!
