How long will the FJO wideband O2 sensor last on leaded fuel?
A few systems are in use on vehicles that routinely burn a mixture of leaded and unleaded fuel as well as some that burn mostly leaded race fuel. As of this writing, one particular car (a Supra) has burned approximately 75 gallons of VP Racing C16 116 Octane leaded racing fuel and the sensor is still appears to function normally. We are tracking several cars that use a relative lot of leaded fuel to try to determine some rules of thumb on sensor life with leaded fuel. We will try to keep this page updated with the results as they develop, but to date, we are not aware of a sensor failure, including those used in conjunction with leaded fuel.
