How long will the ECHO probes last in the field?
We anticipate that they will last between 3 and 5 years. Because the ECHO probes are relatively new (less than 2 years old), we do not have data on their longevity in the field. We have tested them under several conditions: submerged in water, buried in field soil, and freezing/thawing in sand. These tests have been ongoing for well over a year, and we have yet to see a failure from them.
