How long will the DSF-1001 last and how many gallons will it filter?
The ability of any KDF shower filter to reduce chlorine is a function of the quality of the water (i.e. sediment and turbidity levels). As a result, it is difficult to measure precisely in gallons of water. KDF will dechlorinate longer in clean water than in murky water. While it is difficult to measure precisely we can estimate average usefulness. We expect that the DSF-1001 filter cartridge will have an effective life of six to nine months for a family of four, or an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 gallons of usage. The DSF-1001 body should last for several years with proper care.
