How long will negative items stay on my credit report?
The Fair Credit Reporting Act allows for most derogatory items to be reported on the consumer’s credit report for up to seven years. In most cases, bankruptcies can be reported for up to 10 years. Inquiries are usually reported for up to two years. Extensive previous employment and address data can also negatively affect your score and are reported for an indefinite period.
