How Long Will My Dog Live?

So much of that depends on the breed and the lifestyle. You have noticed she’s not quite the puppy she used to be, but she’s still obviously very active. Watch the weight loss at this age, though, because in older dogs, that can be a sign of trouble. The general consesus says that the age a dog “becomes a senior” is 7. I would say a dog that size/breed could live anywhere from 10 to 15 years. My mother had a Siberian Husky (average lifespan per the “experts” say about 10 years) and Donder lived to be 16!!! Alex, my Siberian, was almost 13 years old when I had to put her down (doggie alzheimers). Try not to think how much longer your dog will live; just enjoy whatever time God gives you with her.

Hi, She sounds like she is pretty happy. For her hip problem go to the vet and he will give you something so her hip isn’t getting to stiff. I have seen a lab live up to 18 years old. Make sure you buy her good healthy dog foods (not wal-mart brand, a healthy main brand).Play and enjoy your friend until she can no longer play.Never let a friend stuffer in pain. A Friend.
