I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse. There are many women who deliver at 34 weeks, however the majority of the infants wind up in the neonatal nursery for at least a few days. The lungs are not fully developed at this point and it can be very dangerous for your baby, and can even have long term lung concerns, such as asthma and an increased risk for RSV (look it up). Every doctor is different, but at my hospital we wont stop your labor if you are at 37 weeks, before that we do what we can to keep you pregnant, as long as it is safe for mom and baby. It is only a few short weeks to go, and I know the medication they put you on probably makes you feel wierd, but these few weeks will make a lifelong difference in your child.
