How long will mail be kept on the server?
For now, we will stay with the current 90 day limit as we have had on GroupWise for many years. Storage prices have certainly plummeted, so we could expand this timeframe, but there are concerns about the management of more and more data for both performance and legal reasons. Unless we went with an infinite amount of storage, at some point your email would have to be archived off of the server into a personal store. This could happen on individual desktops, or on a shared server. Getting the mail archived out of the Exchange server at some point will mitigate loss if there is a catastrophic failure, and will aid in performance. There are also legal issues with keeping discoverable data online.
