How long will it take to process my request?
Standard processing time is 1-3 business days from the date we receive your complete request. If you attended prior to 1978, some or all of your record may be non-computerized. If this is the case, please allow 2-4 additional business days for processing. Please note that this is processing time only and does not include transit time.
NCUA will respond to requests within 20 working days, except: (a) Where the running of such time is suspended for payment of fees pursuant to 792.26; (b) In unusual circumstances, as defined in 5 U.S.C. 552(a)(6)(B) and 792.16, the time limit may be extended for: (1) An additional 10 working days as provided by written notice to you, stating the reasons for the extension and the date on which a determination will be sent; or (2) Such alternative time period as mutually agreed by you and the Information Office, when NCUA notifies you that the request cannot be processed in the specified time limit.
Most requests will be filled by 5pm on the day after you place your request. (Example: If you request an item at 2pm on Monday, we will make every effort to have your item available by 5pm on Tuesday. If you request an item at 3pm on Sunday, we will make every effort to have your item available by 5pm on Monday). Requests for items with a location of “Lone Mountain Storage” will take longer to process. Please expect requests from Lone Mountain Storage to take at least three business days to be filled. Business days are defined as Mondays-Fridays, and exclude weekends and USF holidays. Likewise, requests placed on days when the library is closed may take longer to process.
Most requests are processed in a maximum of three (3) business days from the day we receive them, often sooner. If there is a deadline for your application, please note it on the request. So that we will be able to serve all registrants and ensure that credentials are forwarded in a timely fashion, we reserve the right to limit the number of requests we will process in one day for an individual.
If your request form is filled out correctly and your payments have been processed, we will try to send your materials out within a week of receiving your request. Our materials administrator works on a part-time basis (Monday and Thursday) so please do be patient. We will attend to your request as fast as possible. • If you have an urgent request or indicate express shipping on your request form your order will be given priority. • If you have requested individual vectors,TransbacterTM strains, or ‘special’ materials this may take longer because the kits have to be made up. Shipment will be delayed until after payment is received. Note that bank transfers often take 20 business days to process, so please allow this additional time to process your request.
