How long will it take to potty train my puppy?
One thing about the Bichon Shih Tzu and Bichon Shih Tzu Yorkies is that they are very trainable. You train them for your families’ preferences and if you are consistent, they will be too. Muffin trained very quickly for the outdoor bathroom experience but only because WE were very consistent with getting her outside frequently. She soon learned to stand by the door and wait for us to take her out. Some people teach their little pooches to ring a bell that is hanging on the door, some like to paper and outdoor train, some like to litter box train, some like shredded paper training, some like puppy pads. We now have a doggy door that we cut into the side of our house that has a ramp that leads down to a totally enclosed area – nothing out, nothing in.
