The Lithium-Ion batteries that come with the 18V Drill/Driver (PCL180DK-2) take less than 30 minutes to charge. Lithium-Ion batteries hold their charge for up to 18 months when not in use and are light and more compact than other battery chemistries. The NiCad batteries that are included with the 18V Drill/Driver and 18V Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver will charge in under 1 hour. All of the drill sets are equipped with two batteries so one can charge while the drill is in use.
