How long will it take me to complete the Electrical Training course and begin working as an Electrician?
A. That depends on you and how much time you are willing or able to devote to your home study. The only fixed part of your Electrician course is the 4 weeks in Centre so just add the 4 weeks to the time it will take you to do 320 hours of home study and allow additional time for booking availability. For example, if you did 20 hours of study a week the home study element would take you 16 weeks to complete. Add this to the four weeks in Centre then add e.g. another 3 or 4 weeks for admin and booking availability etc and you can complete the whole thing in about 6 -7 months. Don’t forget that after you have finished your electrician course, you will need to revisit the Centre for a further day to complete the theory part of your C&G 2391 qualification. To complete in 6-7 months is a challenging schedule for someone who is already employed, but it can be done. If you want to take a more relaxed approach to the course, that’s fine too. There is no pressure on you to work beyond your own c
