How long will it take for the medical schools to receive my primary AMCAS application?

Once AMCAS verifies your application, they send it along to the medical schools immediately. They will not wait for receipt of the NYU committee letter. At this point, the medical school will forward you secondary applications. Your application is not complete until you have completed your ‘secondaries.’ Due to the high volume of applications during June – August, AMCAS takes between 4-6 weeks to process and verify each application. Therefore it is in your best interest to submit your application through AMCAS as early as possible to ensure its timely receipt.
