The more course and natural your hair is the better your dreads will turn out. Since your hair is straight your hair probably will take about 3 to 6 months to actually loc up. My sister has had her dreads for over 8 years now and she cut all of her relaxed hair off to start them. Now she has a head full of long beautiful dread locs. Hope this helps!
