How long will an on-site inspection take?

0

The length of an on-site inspection depends on the inspection activities approved by the Executive Council. The inspection team has to submit its first report within 25 days after the approval of the inspection. Unless the majority of the Executive Council decides to discontinue the on-site inspection, it can last up to 60 days. During that second phase, which is called the continuation phase, mostly geophysical inspection techniques are used. The on-site inspection can be further prolonged by another 70 days should the inspection team consider this extension necessary. Thus, in total, an on-site inspection can last up to 130 days (i.e. over four months).
