How long will AHS operate the Emergency Pet Shelter?
We’re not sure but we are prepared to operate the Emergency Pet Shelter until all the evacuees staying at the Emergency Shelters are able to safely return home with their pets. Why can’t the public visit with or see the evacuation animals? For the safety of people and the animals only staff will be allowed in the Emergency Pet Shelter areas. Are the evacuation animals up for adoption? No. The animals that are in the Emergency Pet Shelter have families and will be returning home with their families when it is safe to do so. Does AHS need anything? What can I do to help? We are always in need of monetary donations to help us to provide for the homeless animals in our care everyday as well as providing for animals in emergency situations. If you would like to donate a gift card to Petco, Petsmart, or Sams this will help us purchase needed supplies for the animals.
