How long will a new hospital take to build?
It is estimated that a new Royal Hobart Hospital will take at least seven years to plan, design and construct. This is dependent on the preferred site being available when required and the development obtaining timely planning and design approvals. Other factors could further extend the timelines, including extended consultation and approval periods, the availability and capacity of the construction industry, funding availability, alternative procurement options and staged development options.
