How long will a client need to continue to use maintenance rinses?
After being on the OraFresh treatment program for 2 or 3 years most clients no longer required to use the maintenance rinses. Sometimes clients chose to stay on one of the non-prescription rinses just because they liked the safety of having a rinse but would use it once a day or less, rather than the 3 time per day required early on in the program. Occasionally, lifestyle changes resulting in stress, poor diet or illness can result in the return of mouth odour and/or the periodontal disease. When this happens a full retreatment with the antibiotic medication rinses and a return to the maintenance rinse regiment would be required.
