How long was the triangular trade slave route?

Well usually the ship wouldn’t take a direct route. They would tend to call at either Britain or Portugal, the two main slave trading countries. They would take on supplies and possibly even sell a few slaves on the home market, although in Britain it was illegal to buy or sell slaves or own them, just not illegal to ship them to other places. The crossing from Europe to America would take anything up to several weeks depending on winds and weather and often a lot of slaves would die on the way. I would say the average voyage took about three weeks though.
